GOING the right way - $8.95 per page

I closed my eyes. It was early morning and the airplane just took off. I was going on another fantastic vacation with my family. It was my first trip to the West Coast. It was planned to be a ski trip, but for me it was more than just that. It was another adventure, something new that would leave joyful memories about my time in the United States of America.

We landed in Portland, Oregon, rented a car, and headed toward Mount Hood. It was marvelous to observe how the weather and nature was changed during our drive to the mountain. Gradually the snow appeared. We even had to put tire chains on the car. Giant and mighty pine trees towered over the road. We entered a winter wonderland. The landscape was impressive. I felt as if I were transported back in time to my childhood, to the fairy tales my mom read to me. During our trip we visited two mountains:  Mount Hood and Mount Bachelor. The second one located south of the first one. For this reason, the scenery was different too, the appearance varied. If Mount Hood was mightier, Mount Bachelor was more graceful. More of the liberal arts are part of the educational program that gives employability skills, including the ability to think for ourselves, the skills to communicate effectively, and the capacity for lifelong learning. Do not give a technical education but give not only superficial learning of what moved the human thought through the history. Intended as concept of high theory, a branch of a science or art consisting of its explanatory statements, accepted principles, and methods of analysis before the practice intended as doing or perform habitually or customarily, for giving peace of mind as a well known theory guide that let gain a solid grasp of the core material. What can be considered liberal arts included in the university are matters as Humanities (English Literature, Modern Languages, History, Philosophy), Social Sciences (Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Sociology), Creative Arts (Fine Art, Theatre, Speech, Creative Writing), and the Sciences. Liberal arts give necessary practical skills; or they may prepare moving on to a graduate or professional school, will improve analytical, communication and learning abilities. A liberal arts education is all the activities of educating or instructing or teaching; activities that impart knowledge or skill. Abilities and attributes fostered in the Arts are always relevant, having significant and demonstrable bearing on facts or issues. (more…)

Safe schools are schools that ensure that they are taking all safety measures in according to requirements of the Schools Commission. In order to ensure safety in school the schools need to build capacity that will support safety. The schools also have to communicate to students clear and direct messages about what is acceptable and what is not acceptable in school, in case of students breaking the school regulations then the school administration is supposed to make sure that the student adheres to the rules, and the rules are supposed to be enforced consistently by the school authorities. Emphasis on student responsibilities is important. In accountability it is important also that the students should be taught critical thinking techniques to enable the students to consider carefully their decisions. (more…)

Little children are little cherubs from heaven who lost their way and found themselves trapped in this world of ours. No wonder they are so pure and innocent, so faithful and loving, so forgiving and so divine- they still have something heavenly in them! It’s such a pity that they lose this angelic touch in them as they grow more and more a part of this world. For me, it seems that as they are drawn away from heaven, these little children lose their luster of innocence.

Children are such a source of joy as they bring so much lightness of heart and tenderness of emotions that they lilt like the lines of poetry. Yes, they are cute little verses running on little feet! Wasn’t it Alfred Lord Tennyson, poet laureate of the Victorian Age who in his “Children’s Hour” paid tribute to the “patter of little feet”? Or William Wordsworth who wrote and said that “the child is father to the man”? (more…)

My  opinion  about  all  individuals  of  this  world  is  that  we  are  all  like  story  books and  novels. Every  individual  has  his  story  to  share and  tell. There  are  moments  of happiness  and   so  the  moments  of  grief  too. The  moments  of  happiness  usually  passes quickly  than  the  sad  ones.  Since, I   am  one of  those  individuals  too, I  have  my  story  too, a  true   story  about  myself.

The  problems  are  a  part  of  everyone’s  life, my  problem  was  related  to  my  health and  it  started  at  a  very  early  age. I  was  a  very  active  child  of  my  time, enjoyed  every single  minute  of  my  life  till  I  was  six. I  did  not  even  know  the  correct  spelling of jaundice  and  small  pox, these  two  diseases  attacked  me  at  this  age. The  main  problem was  my  eyes  and  my  appearance  which  was  completely  changed  .  I   could  see  things but  could  not  face  even   a  little  bit  of  light. I  became  very  skinny,  the  situation  of  my eyes  was  so  terrible,  I   could  hardly  open  them  due  to  itching  and  redness. (more…)

A liberal arts education, intended as an education that accomplishes, achieve teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, good judgment and wisdom and also as one of its fundamental goals, the imparting of culture from generation to generation does not give a proper or prompt  technical/vocational credentials like  scientific faculties of electronic communications, computer information, industrial design, technology management, environmental engineering, interior construction etc.

In these colleges, a liberal arts education could appear as a minor branch because not based on professional technical studies. If part of an admission college test, a procedure for critical evaluation; a means of determining the presence, quality, or truth of something and not intends as a simply series of questions, problems, or physical responses designed to determine knowledge, intelligence, or ability, could appear as an obstacle to who did not follow musical or other artistic courses before. Along with the pros of outsourcing, there are also some cons associated with the term. Outsourcing is not beneficial in all cases and situations. In some situations, outsourcing may be more of hazardous to the organization rather than advantageous. This is the reason why pros and cons must be weighed before the decision to outsource is made.

“A disadvantage to outsourcing is that you are putting part of your company in someone else’s hands. You have to ask yourself if you can trust them, if you think they’ll stay in business and if they can adapt to your growing/changing needs.” (more…)

The term gambling has had many different meanings depending on the cultural and historical context in which it is used. Currently, in Western societies, it has an economic definition, referring to “wagering money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods”. Typically the outcome of the wager is evident within a short period of time. The term gaming in this context typically refers to instances in which the activity has been specifically permitted by law. The two words are not mutually exclusive; i.e.: a gaming company offers legal gambling activities to the public. In our highly technical society where machine-tooled perfection is an ideal, the gambler has acquired a bad press. He is frequently viewed as an erratic, unstable, and irresponsible sort, driven by unknown forces to take foolish and unnecessary chances. (more…)

The other day our teacher at the technical writing class announced, “Today we are going to talk about using E-Mail as an excellent means of communication”. I thought ‘here it comes, at last I will know more about this’. Like many people in India, I was a latecomer to E-Mail, that too only when it was forced upon me. My father was ill after a stroke and I had to often correspond with my sister in the United States. I noticed that her E-Mails always began with ‘Sunder’. Never was it ‘Dear Sunder’. Her replies to my long and meandering E-Mails were often short and sometimes sounded even curt. I was concerned a bit in the beginning. I still am, although I have got used to it a little. Like every communication tool E-Mail came armed with a danger to ruin even our most intimate relationships forever. (more…)

The UK leisure industry represents businesses as diverse as tour operators and football clubs and is estimated to be worth about ?1.7 billion a week. An analysis of household spending during 2003 revealed that the proportion of disposable income spent on leisure activities is almost identical in terms of proportions of income across diverse socio-economic groups, regardless of whether individuals are in employment or unemployed. In generic terms, individuals will spend 13.5% of their total income on recreation and culture, they will spend 14.3% of their total income on transport and they will spend 9.8% of their total income on restaurants and hotels.
